How to use a face oil without looking greasy

Three drops, on damp skin, after serum. Why the order and the amount matter more than the oil.

Most people who tell us face oil makes them shiny are using too much of it, or putting it on dry skin. The oil is rarely the issue.

Use less than you think

Three drops of Rosehip Renewal Oil is enough for the whole face. Four if your skin is very dry in winter. A full dropper is closer to fifteen drops, which is why it sits on the surface.

Apply it to damp skin

Oil spreads further and absorbs faster over water. After cleansing, pat your face so it is damp rather than dripping, mist or sweep on the Damask Rose Essence, and apply the oil within a minute.

Press, don't rub

Warm the drops between your palms and press them onto your cheeks, forehead and neck. Rubbing drags the oil around and leaves streaks. Pressing puts a thin, even layer down.

Oil goes last

Serums are water-based and need to reach the skin first. If the oil goes on before them, they sit on top of it and do very little. The order is essence, serum, then oil.

If you still look shiny after ten minutes, cut to two drops and use the oil at night only. Most customers who try this settle on three drops in the evening within a week.
